So You Still Think Social Media Doesn’t Count?

Gary Hayes of Personalize Media has created an amazing visual to illustrate dynamically the importance of all the social media chatter taking place in the world today.

Truly a great way to see how much social media counts. For brands, for individuals, for the world.

Hey Michael, great find! I'm a public relations student taking social media @ Humber College in Toronto... Definitely going to have to share this with the class! I have to say - the email count is much higher and faster than I would have expected...
  • SMS's, emails, and google searches don't really count as "social media"...
  • Jeremy, thanks for your comment, but I have to respectfully disagree. Twitter started as SMS and is still available in that format, Google added Buzz to your emails to socialize them, and Google and Bing are indexing Twitter results as fast as they can for the real-time web. So, social is growing and seeping into other more traditional online spaces.
